Minutes 3rd February 2022 (added 22 Feb, 2022) Dunedin Ice Hockey Ass (Inc) Minutes Board Meeting Thursday 3rd February 2022 at 6.00pm Metro Lounge, Edgar Centre, Dunedin Pre-Board meeting format 6.00pm – Sharon Darling – Phoenix Thunder Addressed the board Discussion It was agreed that a Subcommittee be formed to set the management of the Dunedin Thunder Moved Barrett/Seconded Matt The Sub Committee will consist of the Outgoing Manager – Sharon Darling, a player representative and 2 board members. The Board appointed Matt Foster and Barrett Wilson as their representatives. Plan: 1) Sharon and Simon to meet to put out the expression of interests for all Positions. 2) To be sent out by 7th February with a close off date of 21st February 3) Recommendations to be presented to the board within one week. Apologise Kirsty Sangster, Dave Richards Correspondence In SIHL meeting (via Zoom) Tuesday 15th February NZIHF – Covid Policy (Simon to send out) Suggestion of separate QR codes for every change room. Simon to check. To communicate with each team what change rooms they will be assigned for each week. (i.e., Masters and Drop ins). Simon to send out an email with information about getting into rink under Covid restrictions. NZIHF – AGM – 20th February 2022 - Auckland Out Flowers and Card to Gerken family Treasurers Report Still waiting on the accounts to be finalised. Previous Minutes Moved/Seconded Joni/Barrett Matters Arising Coaching Meeting to follow this board meeting. Reports: Youth- to sort the gear what is the rinks and what is the clubs. Waiting SIHL schedule then to let them how many teams we will entering for 2022. U15s – Mike Sam to coach, not sure on numbers of players at this stage. U18’s waiting to see what the numbers are like. Thunder meeting previous this to this board meeting. Adults IHO – numbers down, some missing the social side. (approx. 130), covid and financial reasons also have played a part. Ice time is sometime hard to get as the rink is so busy. Masters’ tournament cancelled due to Covid Women’s – Challenge Cup cancelled due to Covid In house league start games early June Numbers up already looking at 5 teams. To go thru the gear and to a stock take. Thunder Womens more away games this year so will cost more. Look at earlier trails this year. A and B grade training. Need a manager and treasurer role to filled as a priority. Coaching credits to be discussed. Dunedin Ice Sport Board (Simon) General Business Scoreboard Update – waiting on structural sign off. To purchase two laptops. NZIHF AGM – hoping for face to face in Auckland Sunday 20th February 2022. Esports desk Update. – NZIHF set up, but each club manages its own finances, can have family set ups and monthly automatic payments set up. Links to xero to will be a better system. Mike Stitely presented 3 grant applications for the forthcoming season. 1) "A motion to apply to the Kiwi Gaming Foundation for a grant for $2,000 towards the cost of venue hire for youth ice hockey training sessions at the Dunedin Ice Stadium. The Dunedin Ice Hockey Association authorizes Michael Stitely (grant funding administrator) to apply on behalf of the DIHA. Moved Renee Koh/Seconded Mike Byck. 2) “A motion to apply to the Aotearoa Gaming Trust for $2,000 For Womens trainings and games ice rink venue hire. The Dunedin Ice Hockey Association authorizes Michael Stitely (grant funding administrator) to apply on behalf of the DIHA.
